A WOMAN who was attempting to save a puppy that had been struck by a car in East Port of Spain on Sunday was robbed while doing so.
Police said that around 11.55 a.m. the 25-year-old woman from Central Trinidad had parked her car at Piccadilly Street near Calvary Hill, East Port of Spain, exited, and was about to attend to a crying puppy that had been struck moments earlier by a passing car, when a bandit walked up to her and said “Don’t be scared”, and robbed her of her Apple iPhone 14 Plus valued at US$1,200 ($8,191).
He then calmly walked off.
The woman then abandoned her rescue attempt, got into her car and made a report to the Besson Street Police Station.
The condition of the puppy remained unknown up to last night.
