Mayaro Couple Charged for Possession Of Forged Currency

A Mayaro couple who appeared virtually yesterday before the Mayaro Magistrates’ Court jointly charged with Possession of Forged Currencies is now expected to answer the charge before the High Court.

DAYLON RAMBAROSE, 28, a labourer and REANNA FRONTIN, 20, a housewife, both of Stone Bright Village, Mayaro, were not called upon to plea when they appeared before the court jointly charged with Possession of 19 Forged One Hundred Dollar Bills by Cpl Joseph of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

RAMBHAROSE was denied bail and remanded into custody for tracing while FRONTIN was granted $7000 bail.

The matter will be heard at the High Court on November 24th, 2023.

The two were arrested on November 9th and later charged on November 11th following a raid conducted by officers of the Mayaro CID.

According to police reports, between 3 am and 7 am on November 9th, Mayaro CID and personnel attached to the Mounted and Canine Branch, led by Sgt (Ag.) Mohammed, executed a search warrant at a house located in Stone Bright Village, Mayaro.

During the search, police allegedly found 19 one hundred dollar bills of Trinidad and Tobago currency bearing similar serial numbers and of unusual texture and appearance.

Two suspects were immediately held in connection with the finds and later charged following enquiries supported by officers of the Financial Investigations Branch.
