An elderly man died at the hospital on Saturday, days after he was involved in a road traffic accident in Couva on Tuesday 21st November, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 82-year-old Raymond Jackson of Cemetery Street, Perseverance Village, Couva.
• Around 6:15am on November 21st, Jackson was driving a Nissan B14, when he came into contact with a blue Toyota Aqua in the vicinity of the Sevilla traffic lights.
• Jackson and the other driver both suffered injuries and were taken to the Couva Health Facility and later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital for further medical attention.
• However, Jackson died on Saturday while undergoing treatment.
A total of 92 persons died as a result of a road traffic accident for the year thus far.
