A man was charged with murder, attempted murder and several gun-related offences when he appeared before a Couva Magistrate on Monday 23rd October, 2023.
• The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Anil Roopnarine, also called Anil Narine and Budett, of Sinaswee Street, Bank Village in Carapichaima.
• Roopnarine appeared before magistrate Alexander Prince, who denied bail and remanded him into custody to reappear in court next month.
• The charges stemmed from a shooting which claimed the life of Joshua Muniram aka “Starboy Joshie” and wounded his 31-year-old friend at a house in Nizam Mohammed Street on Friday 13th October, 2023.
• A group of gunmen reportedly ran into the yard and shot the duo.
• They were both taken to San Fernando General Hospital where Muniram later died.
