A Former Special Reserve Police officer was charged with trafficking $1M worth of Marijuana in Matura on Thursday 16th November, 2023.
• The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Elliot Alexander, of Oropouche Road, Sangre Grande.
• Alexander was held on Wednesday night with 7.5 kilogrammes of marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,000,000 and was charged on November 16th by PC David, of the Matura Police Station (MPS).
• Around 9:00pm on Wednesday, officers of the Matura Police Station supervised by Sgt Hazel and Cpl Hanooman, stopped and searched a silver Nissan B-14.
• During the search, they allegedly discovered 15 rectangular packets resembling the dangerous drug of cannabis.
• The narcotics were immediately seized and the driver was subsequently arrested.
