A couple was arrested after they were caught with a firearm, several rounds of ammunition and a number of narcotics during an intelligence-led exercise in Santa Cruz on Sunday 29th October, 2023.
• Around 6:15am, the team of officers, acting on intelligence gathered, proceeded to Monroe Road, Lower Santa Cruz where they executed a search warrant for illegal firearms, at the residence of a suspected member of a gang.
• During the search, the officers discovered one black Draco Short Stock Rifle, with one magazine, 30 rounds of 7.62 ammunition and 4.7 kilograms of marijuana.
• The items were seized, and PC Dyette arrested the 30-year-old man and his 21-year-old female companion who were at the house during the search.
• The exercise was led by Sergeant Tom, who was assisted by W/Corporal Bernard and Corporal Charles.
