Car Purchase Gone Wrong

They escaped with their lives when they went to purchase a car in Tunapuna and were shot at by 4 men.

A hail of bullets was fired at members of a family who went to purchase a car in Tunapuna on Thursday.w

Miraculously no one was injured during the shooting as the gunmen fired several 5.56 and 9mm rounds at their victims without warning.

The incident unfolded around 1 pm along Tunapuna Road near Cornelius Road and Sampath Drive.

An 18-year-old man and two members of his family went to the area to meet someone to purchase a car that was advertised for sale on social media.

The teen dropped out of the vehicle by the prearranged location as another relative drove a short distance to turn around.

Moments later, four men approached from Glenside Gardens and opened fire on the victims. The teen and his two relatives ran into their vehicle and drove past the suspects who continued firing shots at them.

They drove to the Tunapuna Police Station and reported the incident. Officers responded and went in search of the suspects who could not be found.

Crime Scene Investigators found and seized 20 spent 5.56 and 2 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene. No one was injured neither was the vehicle the family was inside
