2 Men Arrested In Connection With Robberies

Two men are in police custody in connection with a series of robberies after a car chase with police.

The men, a 22-year-old Jevaughn Ramroop from Acono Road in St. Joseph and 24-year-old Luke Sorillo from Le Seiva in St. Joseph, were held by officers of the Northern Division Task Force on Sunday night.

During their patrol along the Priority Bus Route in St Augustine, a concerned citizen flagged down the officers to report a recent car theft. This citizen provided descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle used in the crime.

Subsequently, the officers located the vehicle on the Eastern Main Road. They attempted to intercept it near Scott Street, but the driver, in an attempt to elude the police, crashed the vehicle into a roadside drain.

Three individuals exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. The officers pursued them, successfully apprehending two of the suspects.

The third car thief remains at large. The police conducted an interrogation of the two apprehended car thieves regarding the theft incident.

Additionally, law enforcement discovered that these two individuals are also sought in connection with another robbery that occurred in the Ste Madeline district on the same day.
