2 Gunned Down In Bon Air

A 15-year-old schoolboy is among two people gunned down at a minimart in Bon Air Arouca last night by bullets intended for another man.

The deceased are 15-year-old Anim Persad a student of the Diego Martin Secondary School who lived at Emerald Circular, Bon Air Gardens Arouca, and 18-year-old Olun Jones of Cocorite Drive, Bon Air, Arouca.

The killers were armed with AR-15 and AK-47 rifles and Crime Scene Investigators found and seized 25 spent 7.62 and 32 spent 5.56 shell casings.

Anim died at the scene while Jones was taken to the Arima District Hospital by police but he was declared dead on arrival, Uncutt News Media understands.

Around 10 pm on Tuesday 14th November, Cpl Weekes, WPC Reeder, and PC Lalsingh of the Arouca CID were on mobile patrol in the Bon Air community when they heard a series of gunshots

Officers arrived at the scene within less than a minute at Miss Patsy Shop at the corner of Skylack Crescent and Emerald Gardens where they found both victims on the pavement with gunshot injuries.

Jones was gasping for breath and was placed in the police vehicle and taken to the Arima District Hospital where he died. Anim died at the scene.

The main target of the shooting, who was lining outside the parlor was unharmed during the incident.

The schoolboy, we were told, went to the shop to make a purchase and he was cut down by bullets intended for another man.

Homicide Officers Cpl Gonzales, WPC White, and PC John were among the other officers at the scene. Cpl Gonzales is investigating the incident.
