A 14-year-old boy is in police custody after he and three other friends robbed a 13-year-old in Couva on Tuesday 31st October, 2023.
• Around 3pm, the 13-year-old was awaiting transport along the Southern Main Road when he was confronted by four boys.
• The group assaulted the teen and relieved him of his cash and cellular phone.
• However, a corporal in the Defence force was observing the incident in his vehicle which was parked nearby.
• The soldier then exited his car and confronted the group who attempted to flee.
• The soldier pursued them and managed to capture the 14-year-old boy before contacting the police who responded and apprehended him.
