Bonus Sermon For Those Who Miss Sunday Minister Grace With Your Words The greatest gift given to human beings is the gift of speech. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers (Ephesians 4:29). Jesus emphasized the importance of words several times in His teachings. In Matthew 12:36, He said, “…every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” Now that is serious For communication that is corrupt is useless and unpleasant; it is not of the Lord. Never allow yourself to become angry by unfavorable comments Nor let foul or filthy language, bad or unwholesome conversation vent through you. The Bible says sweet and bitter waters don’t come out of the same fountain (James 3:11). Being born again, you’re anointed to bless. Your words should, and must lift and inspire others, not break and beat them down. The most effective way to keep your communication gracious at all times is filling your heart and mind with the Word, for out of that abundance, you’ll speak. Not only must your words be gracious and edifying always, they must also be faith words. Words are things; they have substance; they create or destroy. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”Proverbs 18:21 Don’t be careless with words. Your words represent you; they’re your life. The Bible says, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good…for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh” (Luke 6:45). If there’s no foolishness, hatred, bitterness, anger or pride in you, they won’t come out of your mouth. Please be gracious in your speech today People should enjoy being around you and listening to you, because of your invigorating words of wisdom and grace. Confess this My words are filled with grace, and edify my hearers From the abundance of my heart, I speak life, salvation, health, prosperity and blessings in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
